Pryor Cashman announced today that Katherine Reilly has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in the White Collar + Regulatory Enforcement Practice. Kate comes to Pryor Cashman from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where she served as a federal prosecutor for more than a decade, most recently as chief of the Complex Frauds & Cybercrime Unit.

Pryor Cashman announced today that David C. Rose, who was elected last year as the firm’s next managing partner, began his tenure in that role on February 1, 2025. Rose becomes just the third managing partner at Pryor Cashman since its founding in 1963.

He is the third addition to the firm’s expanding Trust + Estates Practice, following the arrival of partners Paul Van Horn and Erica Howard-Potter last year.

Pryor Cashman has named David C. Rose to serve as the firm’s next Managing Partner, effective February 1, 2025. He succeeds current Managing Partner Ronald H. Shechtman, who has served in the role since 2007 and will become the firm’s Co-Chairman and Co-General Counsel. Rose has been working closely with Shechtman, and will continue to do so, to ensure a seamless leadership transition. Rose will become the firm’s third managing partner, following Shechtman and the firm’s founder, Gideon Cashman.

Pryor Cashman won the complete dismissal of claims brought against its client, renowned and revolutionary digital artist Kevin McCoy, regarding his creation in 2014 of what is generally understood to be the world’s first non-fungible token (“NFT”). McCoy created his NFT in association with his digital artwork Quantum, which McCoy later sold through Sotheby’s in 2021 for $1.47 million.
