GE Appliances, a Haier company, today announced a $490 million investment at its Louisville, Kentucky global headquarters and largest manufacturing site to create its most advanced manufacturing plant for production of clothes washers. The project will reshore production of the GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer and the GE® and GE Profile™ UltraFresh Front Load Washer line-up from China, creating 800 new, full-time jobs and cementing Kentucky’s position as a global hub for advanced appliance manufacturing. This investment positions the company to become the biggest American washer manufacturer, builds on GE Appliances’ 10-year, $3.5 billion investment in U.S. manufacturing, and reinforces its position as America’s #1 appliance company.1

GE Appliances, a Haier company, today announced the completion of an expanded $180 million investment at its Roper Corporation cooking products plant in LaFayette, Georgia—underscoring the company’s Built for America commitment to U.S. manufacturing and delivering innovation to American homes. This investment includes an additional $60 million above the previously announced total. Since 2016, GE Appliances – currently rated America’s #1 Appliance Company1 – has invested over $3.5 billion in new technology and products across its U.S. operations, more than any other competitor.

Today GE Appliances, a Haier company, (GEA) launched a yearlong volunteer commitment with hundreds of employees completing 11 projects in Louisville, and other plant communities, activities in 17 states and coordinated efforts in India and South Korea. Today, GE Appliances, a Haier company, continues advancing its commitment to American manufacturing with the opening of its newest manufacturing operation in Stamford, Connecticut. This morning, GE Appliances President & CEO Kevin Nolan joined with area workforce development leaders at CoCREATE Stamford to celebrate the production launch for the microfactory with the first appliance rolling off the line.

GE Appliances (GEA), a Haier company, is deploying a fleet of electric freight vehicles on routes between the company’s inbound warehouses and its manufacturing facilities in Kentucky, Georgia, and Tennessee. The move will increase efficiency, reliability and lower the cost of moving manufacturing materials and components in a critical segment of the company’s supply chain. It will also provide data for the company to assess the environmental benefits of electric vehicles (EV) to achieving its operation’s sustainability goals. This is the implementation phase of an agreement between GEA and Einride, a leader in providing electric and autonomous shipping solutions.
